Egalement construit en Grande-Bretagne avant la seconde Guerre Mondiale sous l\u2019appellation de Martlet Mark V, c\u2019est l&rsquo;un d&rsquo;eux est \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00eele de la Fourmigue. L\u2019\u00e9pave portait les cocardes anglaises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Wildcat mesurait 12 m d\u2019envergure et 9 m de long et\u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un moteur Pratt et Whitney de 1200 CV. Il \u00e9tait dot\u00e9 de 6 mitrailleuses, et pouvait emporter 2 bombes de 45 kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Deux th\u00e8ses s\u2019opposent quant \u00e0 sa pr\u00e9sence au fond :<br>&#8211; La 1\u00e8re : Le Wildcat aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 embarqu\u00e9 sur le porte-avions Herm\u00e8s. Il aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 jet\u00e9 \u00e0 la mer car les dommages qu\u2019il avait subis ne lui aurait pas permis d\u2019\u00eatre r\u00e9par\u00e9. Il est exact que cette m\u00e9thode \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. On daterait sans certitude cet acte \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e 1956.<br>&#8211; La 2\u00e8me : tout simplement un crash ou un amerrissage forc\u00e9.<br>Bien que la premi\u00e8re th\u00e8se soit appuy\u00e9e par un des sp\u00e9cialistes fran\u00e7ais en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9pave, la deuxi\u00e8me semble plus plausible. En effet le train d\u2019atterrissage est rentr\u00e9. On remarquera que l&rsquo;avion est en tr\u00e8s bon \u00e9tat. On y voit tout le fuselage et m\u00eame la roue arri\u00e8re. Seul&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/scubaspot.free.fr\/epaves\/wildcat-nez.html\">le nez<\/a>&nbsp;du Wildcat est ab\u00eem\u00e9. L\u2019h\u00e9lice a encore toutes ses pales. Elle est fix\u00e9 au moyeu, coinc\u00e9 sous l\u2019empennage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ne pr\u00e9sentant pas de difficult\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re du fait de la profondeur, cette plong\u00e9e ne s&rsquo;adresse qu&rsquo;\u00e0 des Niveau 3 ou PE60. C&rsquo;est un avion dont on fait rapidement le tour.
